What is the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE)?
The Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) is a standardized test taken by students generally at the end of their sixth grade study (second year of advanced secondary school) to assess the learner’s knowledge and ability to pursue with further education such as diploma and degree courses and examine the extent to which the learners can use the skills gained to meet the social, political, economic and technological challenges for the individual and the national development at large.
The exams are usually held between late September and early/mid-November and are managed by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA). Students must earn three credits to pass the exams.
Qualification for Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination
To be eligible to sit for the NECTA Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- First of all, candidates must have completed two years of advanced level secondary school (Form five & Form Six), which indicates that they have advanced knowledge in various subjects. This ensures that candidates are well prepared for the rigor and complexity of the ACSEE exam.
